Company Profile: Being one of the established power companies in the world, The Hongkong Electric Co Ltd (HK Electric) has been the power behind Hong Kong since 1890, serving about 586,000 commercial and residential customers on Hong Kong and Lamma Islands.
The Company operates its Lamma Power Station with an installed capacity of 3,401.9MW, where more than 50% of the power generation is gas-fired and the rest by coal. To support Hong Kong’s carbon neutrality mission, HK Electric is continuously increasing its use of gas and renewable energy. The Company built and operates Hong Kong’s first commercial-scale wind power station, Lamma Winds, and the largest solar power system.
